Creating a holiday party hairstyle

1. A stack of 4 ponytails

Start by making 4 ponytails at the back of your head. Do this by pulling back 4 sections of hair from the front sides to the back. This will give you 4 stacked ponytails.

2. Creating a faux-braid

Take the top ponytail and split it in half. Pull the ponytail underneath it through the split. Then tie the sections together with a hair elastic. Tug at the sections to create volume.

3. Continue to the end

Do the same with the next ponytail, splitting the ponytail from above, pulling the one beneath it through, and tying the sections with a hair tie.

Tug at the loops of hair between each knot for volume.

Continue this all the way down to the bottom of the hair, creating a braid-like weave with hair ties between each weave.

4. Finishing touches

Once you’ve finished, go back and tug at each loop again. The volume of the loops is what makes this hairstyle so unique. You can also add a nice clip at the top of the hair if you want to add an accessory.

I love this as an easy alternative to a classic French braid.

Tying the hair between each weave makes it so much easier to create a French braid-like look. Plus, this look is so much more modern and dynamic.
