Easy Summer Messy Bun!
I’ve seen this messy bun on social media and loved it, but thought it was going to be difficult to achieve.
I wish someone had told me how easy it is!
But I’m telling you, so you can try it for yourself.
Tools and materials:
- 2 hair ties
- Kirby grips or flower grips
Table of contents
1. Top layer
Divide your hair horizontally into two sections.
Grasp the top section in one hand, wrap a hair tie over the base and pull a couple of inches of your hair through the loop.
Keep the hair tie loop open around your hand and flip your fingers until the tail of hair below the tie.
Twist your hair around itself several times.
Wrap the tail around the base of the ponytail and pull the ends of your hair through the hole to make a knot.
Tuck the ends away under the knot.
2. Second layer
Twist the lower layer in the same way.
Then wrap and knot it as you did with the top layer.
3. Finishing touches
Pinch and pull the two knots until you’re happy with the results.
Use kirby grips to hold the knots in place.
For a special occasion or just a beautiful summer’s day, use flower-topped grips instead.
The final effect is elegant and ornate, while keeping that messy vibe.
It looks far more difficult to do than it actually is!
Give it a go and tell me what you think of it in the comments below.
