1. Prepare your hair
Begin with dry hair and divide it into manageable sections, clipping the upper layers out of the way.
Lightly mist the section you are about to curl with styling spray, then brush it through to distribute the product evenly and remove any tangles.
2. Twist around the curling iron
Place the curling iron near the roots, keeping enough distance from the scalp to avoid burning it.
Wrap the hair around the barrel, twisting it on every other turn rather than laying it completely flat.
Continue winding the hair down the barrel, to the ends. Hold briefly, then carefully release the curl.
3. Cool and finish
Catch the warm curl in your hand and gently coil it back towards the scalp.
Hold it in place for a few moments, or pin it up while you curl the remaining sections, so it cools without being stretched.
Once all the curls are cool, release and loosen them gently with your fingers.
Finish with a light texture or volume spray.
Twisting the hair gives each curl extra definition and a more natural, textured appearance.
Allowing the curl to cool before loosening it helps set the shape, making the finished style last longer.
