Easy Faux Braid Tutorial

Mandy Sims
by Mandy Sims

Here's another easy hair tutorial! It works with short hair, thin hair, thick hair or long hair. All you need is a few small rubber bands and one clip. I recommend watching the video a few times to make sure you get the hang of it.

Start by taking a small section of the top of your hair and wrapping it in a rubber band

Then pull that section over your head and use the clip to keep it out the way

Gather another small section of hair and wrap that section in a rubber band

Bring the hair in a clip down and split it to wrap around the new ponytail then wrap a rubber band around the bottom

Pull a section of hair and clip it away

Keep repeating this process all the way down your head

  • Looks very nice. But I love the color even more. Might work on my dirty blonde color hair. How did you get it? It's beautiful.

I don't know about anyone else, but rubber bands cut my hair. I may try this with small hair ties.

Rubber bands definitely cause breakage just by using them. To minimize the damage, ALWAYS CUT the rubber bands out of your hair if you happen to use an uncoated one.
