1. Exfoliating body scrub

One of the easiest beauty uses for Epsom salts is as a natural exfoliant. Their coarse texture helps slough off dead skin cells, leaving your skin smoother and more radiant.

  • Optionally, add a few drops of essential oil for fragrance.

  • Unclogs pores and reduces build-up
  • Stimulates circulation
  • Preps skin for better absorption of moisturizers

After a long day on your feet, an Epsom salt foot soak is bliss. Not only does it ease tension, but it also softens rough heels.

3. Volumizing hair treatment

Flat or oily hair? Epsom salts can help add body and texture without harsh chemicals. Mixed with your conditioner, they absorb excess oil and lift limp locks.

How to use it:

  • Mix equal parts Epsom salts and conditioner.
  • Apply to hair (avoiding roots if prone to dryness).
  • Leave on for 10–15 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.

Benefits:

  • Adds volume and texture
  • Helps remove product build-up
  • Leaves hair feeling cleaner and bouncier

Final thoughts

While Epsom salts are generally safe for external use, always do a patch test before trying any new DIY treatment—especially if you have sensitive skin.

With just a bag of Epsom salts, you can unlock multiple beauty benefits—proving that sometimes, the best treatments are both simple and affordable.

You do what you want. My hairdresser and mainly my dermatologist said to keep the Epsen Salt in the bath and not in the hair. Epsen Salt main ingredient is Magnesium Sulfate. Another item that is not good for daily use on hair is sulfates. If you look you will notice more and more sukfate free shampoos and conditioners on the shelves. But as I said, you do you and I’ll do me. Hope others will do their own research before just throwing anything into their hair after reading a “hack”. Have a great Sunday, don’t know where you live but it’s a beautiful sunny day here so getting ready to get in the pool. Before I get in pool I completely soak my hair with clean water(keeps the chlorine from getting in the hair shaft), I always wear a hat in the sun. Even natural color hair needs to be protected from the sun. The sun will turn light blond, grey & white hair yellow) I also rinsing my hair throughout the day with clean fresh water.
