A straw hat is a great way to stay safe from the summer sun, but where can you put it while you’re indoors or en route?

Tools and materials:
- Canvas bag
- Ribbon
- Scissors
- Hot glue gun
- Hat

1. Supplies
Pick up a canvas tote and some ribbon. Go for a decorative twine-like ribbon to match the style of your hat.
2. Measure
Place the bag on a flat surface and lay the hat centered on top. Mark the bag at the points where the inner edge of the hat rim meets the bag on top, bottom, and both sides.
Use a ruler to help draw straight lines connecting those points.
3. Glue
Measure and cut the ribbon adding an inch or two for seam allowance. Use a hot glue gun to glue the edges of the ribbon to the bag. Attach two ribbons vertically at the inside edge of the top of the bag and the bottom of the bag.
Then glue one horizontally just at the bottom edges, leaving them loose across the front of the bag.
4. Use
When the glue dries, slip the rim of the hat under the ribbons and you’ve got a hat holder on your bag.
