Tools and materials:
- Pullover sweater
- Scissors
- Sewing machine
- Sewing needle and thread
- Plain or decorative buttons
- Decorative button covers (optional)
1. Cut your sweater
Lay your old pullover sweater flat on your work surface.
Take a deep breath, and cut the front only of your sweater straight down the middle.
2. Sew the edges
Fold both center edges of the front of your sweater to the inside, and sew them in place.
3. Re-attach the center of your sweater
Decide on the length of openings you want down the center of your sweater, and sew buttons in place at those lengths.
You can use decorative buttons or plain buttons that you will then cover.
I used plain buttons and decorative flower button covers to fancy them up.
