I had an aunt who used Vicks for everything. It was a running joke in my family my entire life. Recently my dog has had a skin infection. Out of ideas and money from buying medicine and expensive shampoos, I decided to try Vicks. I first allowed the dog to smell it. He was not bothered by the smell. So I pushed his fur aside and applied the Vicks directly onto his skin. He immediately stopped scratching the area and within one weeks time all of the scabs have disappeared and the dog is much more comfortable in his own skin. My vet laughs at me however the joke is on her because this simple product has cured his skin condition and I’m sold! My Aunt Mary Patricia is smiling down on us and saying “I told you so”!
After seeing the dramatic difference the Vicks made to my dogs itchy skin I decided to try it for myself. I use Sarna lotion for my own skin. It used to contain menthol and camphor to alleviate itchy skin. They’ve changed the formula and the new one is not as effective. I decided to make my own by slathering on the Vicks over the less effective Sarna and I now have a much more effective relief for my own skin issues. Vicks is amazing and I’m sold on it. I won’t be wasting time or money on any other “new and improved” products any longer! Thanks Vicks!
