The Brooch Hack EVERYONE Needs to Know
Here's a quick style tip: Do you love the brooch trend, but every time you put one on it ends up flopping over and pointing towards the floor?
You're not doing anything wrong. Most vintage brooches, and honestly a lot of new ones too, were designed for heavier fabrics like wool coats, tweed, and structured blazers.
Today's clothing is often made from light knits, silk, linen, cotton, and stretchy fabrics which just don't have enough structure to support the weight.
If your brooch is oversized, has a long pin back, or is top-heavy, gravity's gonna win every time.
But stylists have a quick fix for that, and all you need is a piece of felt or a cotton round.

1. Insert fabric or cotton round
Place your felt or cotton round on the inside of your clothing where you want the brooch to sit.
2. Pin brooch through the extra fabric piece
Then pin the brooch through your clothing and that little piece of fabric you put behind it.
Now, instead of that brooch hanging from a tiny thin piece of fabric, it's spread through a thicker surface. That extra support helps keep your brooch upright, prevents sagging,and stops delicate fabric from getting stretched out.
If you're doing this on a jacket, I prefer a small piece of felt because if someone sees it, it looks cleaner. But on a blouse, a cotton round works just fine.
