How Rice Can Help Your Hair

Want to give your hair a natural boost? In this quick tutorial I’ll show you how to make rice water at home and use it to strengthen and soften your hair while promoting healthy hair growth.


Is good for your hair? Yes! And here’s your chance to try it out with me. 

Tools and materials:

  • White rice
  • Strainer
  • Measuring cup
  • Large glass jar
  • Bowl 
  • Claw clip

1. Measure and rinse rice

Measure 1 cup of uncooked white rice and clean it in a strainer under running water to remove any impurities.

2. Pour into a container

Transfer the clean rise into a large, glass container.

3. Add water

Add about 2 cups of tap water to your rice.

Put the lid on and give it a shake.

4. Wait and then strain out the rice

Let the rice soak for about 30 minutes to 1 hour. Then strain out the rice into a clean bowl.

5. Rinse your hair

Use this DIY rice water to rinse your hair in the shower.

Work the rice water into your roots by massaging with your fingers.

Clip your hair up and let the rice water soak in while you shower.

Rinse out the rice water, dry your hair if you prefer, and enjoy smooth, healthy hair!
