Tools and materials:
- Square scarf
- Pearl bead
- Hair elastic
- Alligator clip
1. Fold the scarf
Start by taking your scarf and laying it flat. Fold the scarf diagonally from one corner to the opposite corner to form a triangle.
2. Fold the triangle into a long band
Once your scarf is in a triangle shape, fold it upwards in several layers (about two or three times) to create a long, straight band.
3. Create the diagonal edges
Now, take one side of the band and fold it down at a diagonal angle, creating a slanted edge.
Repeat the same process on the other side, folding it at a diagonal to create a mirrored slanted edge.
4. Pinch together to form shape
Hold the scarf in the center and pinch it together so the ends form a loop-like shape. Adjust the folds so that both sides of the scarf fan out evenly.
5. Secure the bow with an elastic
To hold the bow in place, take a small elastic hair tie and a pearl bead.
Thread the elastic through the pearl bead so that it sits at the center.
Then, tuck one side of the elastic under the pearl, wrapping it around the bead to secure it in place.
Use the elastic to wrap around the center of your scarf, securing the bow shape.
6. Attach the bow to your hair
Now, flip the bow over and attach a hair clip to the back of the bow. This will allow you to easily clip it into your hair.
Position the bow where you’d like it in your hair, clip it into place, and voilà!
