How to Make DIY Fake Nails Out of a Face Mask & Baby Powder
Today I have a super creative nail tutorial for you. I will be showing you how to make DIY fake nails out of a face mask!
During this pandemic, we all have dozens of face masks handy in our homes, so this is a fun way to use them creatively.
Tools and materials:
- Face mask
- Scissors
- File
- Nail glue
- Baby powder
- Nail polish
- Makeup brush
1. Cut a face mask
Cut a face mask in the general shape of a nail. No need to be detail-oriented with this step.
2. Measure
Line the face mask against your nail to measure the width.
3. Trim
Trim and shape the face mask according to your nail size.
4. File
File your nail thoroughly.
5. Apply nail glue
Apply nail glue to the back side of the face mask.
Then, apply nail glue directly to your nail.
6. Add the face mask
Apply the face mask to your nail and hold it in place until it sticks.
7. Trim
Cut off the end of the face mask to your desired nail length and shape it into a nail shape.
8. Apply more nail glue
Apply nail glue to the entire outer part of the face mask.
Let it dry and harden, then apply the nail glue a second time.
9. Apply baby powder
Pat baby powder into the nail in a thick layer.
Brush off the excess baby powder.
10. File
File the entire nail thoroughly to make it smooth.
11. Apply more nail glue
Apply another layer of nail glue to the entire nail.
Once the nail dries, you will see that it has become waterproof and strong.
12. Apply polish
Apply the polish of your choice to the nail.

This is the finished DIY nail with polish! This DIY is so creative and innovative, no one will believe that your nails are made out of a face mask! You can customize the size, shape, and color!

You know I went to school back in the day cosmetology down in Florida and never ever ever would I do this or put the nails on unless they were with the sticky easy removable tabs. It's too hard on your nails when you're done using fake nails in your senior years you end up with paper thin and I mean wafer paper thin nails so if you want to ride High with the fashion in your younger years you will guarantee be suffering later on in life. All those times people have given the warnings and others dismissed it because they were young and figured they were Invincible it wouldn't happen to them... and then you hear people always complaining whining and making comments I wish I would have listened I wish I would have paid attention I wish I realized it could happen to anybody and over time will. Do you realize how hard it's going to be to get all of that glue off those natural nails? How you are suffocating them? Yeah go ahead do a full set sorry I think it's only fair they know the dark side of this
Don’t wash your hands, your “nails” will go down the drain. They sell press on nails at Dollat Tree. Surely you can’t afford $1.25 and get something that will last.
That is an awful lot of glue to be putting on your own nail. It’s going to damage it. Eventually.
