Why Vaseline?
Vaseline (petroleum jelly) is a tried-and-true emollient known for sealing in moisture and protecting skin from dryness. It's gentle, non-comedogenic, and acts as a base that allows other nourishing ingredients to work more effectively.
Tools and materials:
- 1 tablespoon Vaseline
- 1 teaspoon coconut oil
- ½ teaspoon vitamin E oil
- 2–3 drops of essential oil (optional)
Instructions:
- Melt & mix: In a small heat-safe bowl, combine the Vaseline and coconut oil. Gently melt the mixture using a double boiler or microwave in short 10-second bursts until it’s smooth and fully combined.
- Add your vitamin E oil: Stir in the vitamin E oil and essential oil (if you’re using it). Mix well until all the ingredients are fully blended.
- Cool & store: Pour the mixture into a small, clean container—like an empty lip balm tin or jar. Let it cool and solidify at room temperature or in the fridge for quicker results.
- Apply regularly: Massage a small amount into your cuticles and nails before bed or throughout the day for a boost of hydration and protection.
Tips for the best results:
- Use daily to see improvements in nail strength and cuticle appearance.
- Keep a mini container in your purse or at your desk for on-the-go hydration.
- Apply after handwashing to replenish lost moisture and maintain softness.
