Tear up Some Old Denim for This Beautiful DIY Accessory
In this DIY, I’m going to show you how you can transform a pair of denim jeans into a wonderfully stylish belt.
Let’s get underway with making our new accessory!
Tools and materials:
- Denim shorts
- Scissors
- Gold hardware
- Fabric glue
1. Cut the shorts
Begin by cutting the shorts.
You want to cut midway through the pockets on the front and around the pockets on the back to retain them as part of the design.
2. Add decorative elements
Glue some gold hardware to the back of the shorts with fabric glue. I think it looks nice to keep the design symmetrical.
You can also go in with some gold chains.
Also, add gold detail to the pockets.
DIY belt
Here is the finished belt!
As you can see, I am wearing it so that the back of the shorts is at the front, and the two back pockets function as belt pockets.
I think that this belt is stunning, and the wonderful thing about it is that you can personalize it to your liking.
What was the front of the shorts now acts as the back of the belt. I attached a chain at the back, which hangs down and adds a really chic touch.
Just because you can’t see the back of the belt when you’re wearing it doesn’t mean that other people can’t appreciate the design!
