Grab a $12.98 Walmart Sweatshirt & a Thrifted Quilt... 🤯🎃🍂
Get ready for Halloween with this fun and easy DIY pumpkin sweater! In this tutorial, I'll show you how to transform a plain long-sleeve top into a festive piece perfect for the season. Let’s get started!
Tools and materials:
- Plain sweater
- Quilt
- Fabric
- Tissue paper
- Pen
- Scissors
- Sewing machine
1. Create the pumpkin stencil
Draw a pumpkin shape on some tissue paper. Be sure to include the eyes, nose, and mouth in your design.
2. Cut out the pumpkin shape
Place the stencil on the quilt and cut around it to create your pumpkin shape.
3. Cut out features
From a contrasting material, cut out the eyes, nose, and mouth of the pumpkin. I chose dark blue to create a nice contrast against the pastel colors of the quilt. Place the cut-out pieces on the pumpkin.
4. Sew the features
Sew the eyes, nose, and mouth onto the pumpkin shape, securing them firmly.
5. Attach the pumpkin to the sweater
Finally, sew the pumpkin onto the front of your long-sleeve top by stitching it all around the edges.

And there you have it! Your very own DIY pumpkin sweater, perfect for the Halloween season. I adore the light colors of the quilt against the black sweater.
