Make Your Own Eco Earrings From Nut Beads
I alway like to create my own jewellery and being environmentally conscious, I wanted to make use of a non edible fruit of the palm called Tagua nuts. These beauties are dyed brilliant colours and sliced and shaped into fantastic beads suitable for jewellery making.
With so many variations to choose from I look for beads that colour match well.
I twist open the jump ring with pliers and feed it through the pre drilled hole. Then I place a much smaller ring onto it before squeezing the ring tight and secure.
I mostly use some round nosed pliers to help secure jump ring fixings they make light work of assembling the components.
Once the other pair is assembled with jump rings just need to add the sterling silver ear hooks in. I prefer to use silver in order to prevent any ear irritations.
They spring open easily then with the round nosed pliers I pop the ear hook through the small jump ring and straighten them up secure in place with a gentle squeeze of pliers. So many varied styles of ear hooks available however these I find the easiest to work with.
