Let’s prevent any unintentional fashion faux pas. Don’t wear these 7 outdated shoe trends this fall. I’ll also show you what to replace them with.

1. Swap neon heels for white mules

Neon heels are not in fashion right now, making them a bit tacky. Instead get a white or ivory heel. Go for a 3-inch heel to make sure they’re wearable and comfortable.

Try your heels with a nice monochromatic outfit like this one. I love the green jacket with the green leather skirt.

Another option would be to wear them with a colorful bomber jacket like this burgundy suede.

Pair the jacket with some jeans, and these shoes top off another versatile and fabulous look.

2. Swap platform wedges for pointy toe wedges

These sleek, pointy toe wedges are the perfect trend to replace chunky, clunky old platform wedges.

Try wearing your wedges with some track pants. You gotta love a trend that embraces comfort. The heels dress up the pants. This look will finish perfectly with a leather bomber jacket.

3. Swap chunky block heels for

The chunky block heels have definitely seen their day.

Instead, opt for a low-heeled pointy toe mule.

The pointy toe elongates your legs. Wear them with high-waisted wide leg dark wash jeans and a burgundy top.

4. Swap studded heels for animal print heels

I love these 3-inch heel zebra print shoes. They’re stylish and comfortable.

Here’s another great monochromatic look. Allow your animal print to be the star of the show with a burgundy sweater and silk skirt.

Animal print shoes look great with jeans like these dark wash, straight leg jeans. Top the look off with a stylish leather jacket.

5. Swap platform heels for low kitten heels

Put the platform heels in the back of your closet, because this is a look that circles back. For a more up-to-date look try some kitten heels. Nothing over 3-inches.

Here’s another shoe you can wear to dress up some track pants. A matching leather jacket pulls it all together.

Another great low heel are these burgundy peep-toe mules. They look great with some black capri leggings and a burgundy leather jacket.

6. Swap chunky dad sneakers to sleek minimal sneakers

Sleek minimal sneakers are on trend and they look great.

You can wear them with some cropped jeans and a blue bomber jacket.

7. Swap clunky platform loafers for sleek minimal loafers

Try sleek minimal loafers like these brown suede ones.

They look great with some navy lodge pants. Wear a white tank top and a denim bomber jacket to finish off the look.

The Bottom Line

Some of the old shoe trends might circle back, but for now, stay on trend.
