Walmart has a bit of a stigma, and I get it. Over the past few years they have really stepped up their fashion, and many women that would have never shopped for clothing there before are being won over. Especially with certain brands like Scoop, Free Assembly, Sophia Vergara, Time And True, and the lounge and pajama line of Joy Spun.
Even the junior brand No Boundaries has recently adjusted their sizing to a more women’s fit than a teenager. The quality of all these brands differs slightly, and in my opinion Scoop and Free Assembly are the best.
I was blown away at the quality of these Walmart dresses…in fact, some of them even look like J. Crew type fashion. I wear quite a bit of Walmart in my personal wardrobe and people are shocked when I tell them something is from Walmart! I’m not ashamed, in fact it makes me happy to share affordable clothing that looks this good.
My love for the classic and stylish shirtdress will be evident with today’s dresses. I think every woman needs at least one in her wardrobe. They are sophisticated and so flattering to many body types.
The Eyelet Maxi Shirt Dress by Free Assembly is stunning! I truly believe this resembles something you would pay upward of $150 for at J. Crew. It is available in navy and pink in sizes XS to 4X. The fabric is 100% cotton with eyelet embroidery and a scalloped hem that gives such a feminine touch.
The long sleeves can be rolled up if you prefer and the button are functional. I love the tie waist for really cinching in your shape. I sized up to a medium to ensure plenty of room in the bust area, but I really didn’t need to.
I just can’t get over the pretty eyelet detail on this dress! No one would guess this is a Walmart dress.
Another Free Assembly Walmart find that looks more expensive than it really is. This is also a style that looks like something from J. Crew or Banana Republic. Blue and white stripes are a classic look and this dress to me is so versatile.
I could see this with heels like I styled it here, but also just as lovely with white sneakers or sandals in the spring and summer. I also sized up to a medium in this one, and I think I needed it in the shoulders. Sizes are available from XS to 4X and there are three colors.
My best Walmart dresses collection includes this little black sweater dress by Scoop. This is the perfect all occasion dress to have in your wardrobe. It runs TTS, and I’m wearing a small. It has a boat neck, which is very flattering and some pleating details.
Consider this for wearing nearly all year. Perfect for now in well into Spring. Pair with flats, heels, or sneakers depending on the look you are going for! I chose some leopard print flats.
As with many Walmart dresses, you have to act fast because they tend to sell out quickly. That is what happened with this style, but I wanted to share it in case they do restock it.
Another shirtdress variation, this crisp white style with a belted waist and pleated skirt is going to be a staple in my spring and summer wardrobe. I did size down to a small in this style and it was a good fit.
